Estudantes acampam em frente ao Congresso Nacional em defesa das florestas

Desde o dia 6 de dezembro , o gramado da Esplanada dos Ministérios, em frente ao Congresso Nacional, ganhou mudas de árvores. O protesto, contra a aprovação do Código Florestal, marcou a votação no plenário do Senado Federal, que aprovou o PLC 30/2011 defendido pela bancada ruralista.
Incansáveis, estudantes fizeram vigília em torno da plantação, que foi retirada pela polícia legislativa. Indignados, membros do Comitê Universitário em Defesa das Florestas e do Desenvolvimento Sustentável e outros participantes iniciaram o movimento de ocupação montando barracas e instalando faixas pedindo o veto da presidenta Dilma Rousseff ao texto do Código Florestal, que anistia desmatadores, reduz a proteção ambiental, diminui a vegetação nativa em todo o Brasil, além de facilitar a ocorrência de outros riscos à população brasileira.
Aprovado no Senado, o texto voltou à Câmara dos Deputados que deve analisar as mudanças e votar o projeto em data ainda indefinida. Depois de passar novamente na Câmara dos Deputados, o projeto de lei seguirá para a sanção da Presidente da República.
